Heraa Hashmi joins the TQP team to discuss secularism in science. Continuing the discussion from our previous episode, we take a look at the relationship between religion and science in academia, as well as the moral implications of attempting to divorce theology from the study of the natural world. Broaching a range of topics including mental health, medical ethics, and abortion, we delve into the biases present—and denied—in the world of supposedly objective scientific research.
A clinical researcher by profession, Heraa is a graduate in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. She is also a founding member and contributor at Traversing Tradition, an online publication geared towards examining modern society through an Islamic worldview.
